Our Fest is part of the City of San José’s Viva CalleSJ’s six-mile open streets event!
Viva CalleSJ is car-free event that closes off six miles of San Jose’s most interesting, historic, and eclectic streets. These streets are open only to people-powered vehicles— like legs, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, wheel chairs, and baby carriages. No electric, hydrogen, vegetable oil, or gas powered vehicles may ride along the Viva CalleSJ.
Group Bicycle Rides to and at the Fest:
Join San Jose Bike Party’s two group rides: “Groovin” and a “Kidz Bike Party Ride”. We will post time and place with hyperlinks to their Facebook event pages when these rides are finalized.
Bicycle to our Festival from San Jose’s Rod Diridon Caltrain Station to the Viva CalleSJ route’s beginning at St. James Park. Then ride the Viva CalleSJ to its end at Emma Prusch Farm Park. In the spirit of Jane’s Walk (www.janeswalk.org), make new friends, enjoy a safe bicycle ride.
Ride #1 departs at 10:30am to Viva CalleSJ’s beginning at St. James Park .
Ride #2 departs at noon to Viva CalleSJ’s beginning at St. James Park.
We have two rides to our Fest to enable Caltrain’s Southbound riders and Highway 17 Express’ Outbound riders to arrive at the Rod Diridon Caltrain Station in time to connect with a ride:
Many thanks to SVBC’s Ann Jasper for leading this ride and to Jaime Fearer of California Walks! for championing Jane’s Walk.
From St. James Park, walk to nearby Santa Clara Street and board Valley Transportation Authority’s (VTA’s) Bus 22. Stop at King & Chaucer. A short walk toward Story Road will bring you to our Festival. See VTA’s Trip Planner or consult Google Maps for routes to the Fest.
Parking at Emma Prusch Farm Park:
Inside Emma Prusch Farm Park are a limited number of handicapped parking spaces.
Public parking on this day will not be available.
In the spirit of Viva CalleSJ, please take public transportation, or ride a bike or other non motorized vehicle along the Viva CalleSJ. If driving is a must, please find on-street parking somewhere near the Viva CalleSJ’s route.
We can’t wait to meet you at the Fest!
